Donna Howard
I call my work Macropointillism. It’s a good word, a descriptive word. A word a friend used to describe my paintings and I adopted it. You won’t find it in the Merriam Webster, so it’s also a made up word. I like that in a word. I build my "large points" up with brush strokes beginning at the base. I consider size and color to create a mood, emotion or space and scenery.
The characters are in my head before I start a painting. Most represent people in my life that I love and their wonderful quirks.
I'm the Mad Hatter at my very own Tea Party, opening people up to the absurd and encouraging them to thoroughly enjoy it.
